At Sunnybrow Primary School, we believe that having a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum reaches beyond the classroom and into every aspect of our children’s day. As a result, we are proud to be part of the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) scheme, which is aimed at providing engaging outdoor break and lunchtimes.
We recognise the importance of ‘play’ in a child’s development and, as a school, are committed to creating a range of different outdoor experiences with a focus on upon quality outdoor provision for playing and learning. We understand that play is essential for physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development. It may or may not involve equipment or other people. It may be serious or light-hearted. It may produce something or it may be done simply for its own sake.
It allows children an opportunity to be creative and make decisions.
