In November 2019 we opened our Early Years Unit and welcomed Nursery into Sunnybrow Primary School. Nursery are an integral part of our school family and, together with Reception, form the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our unit is run by Mrs Sim (our EYFS teacher, Assistant Head Teacher and SENCo) and supported throughout the week by Mrs Austin, Mrs Black and Miss Wild. We believe that our Early Years Unit provides our children with the very best start to their learning journey because we strive to create a happy, secure and creative environment where children explore, investigate, listen and discuss in order to become independent, mature and motivated learners who are ready to learn and have fun! You can find out more about our approaches to teaching and learning by visiting the ‘Class One’ page of our website.
We have 10 places available in our Nursery. You can place your child’s name on our Nursery waiting list at the beginning of the school year (1st September to 31 August) in which your child has his or her second birthday. You can add your child’s name to the waiting list by completing the form below and returning it to school along with the listed proof of identity.
When a nursery place becomes available for your child you will be informed by letter. This place will occur the term after your child’s 3rd birthday, subject to availability. If you accept the place offered, your child’s birth certificate must be seen by our school secretary (either Mrs Smith or Mrs Clarke-Boyd). If you are in receipt of a ‘Golden Ticket’, your child may start Nursery the half a term BEFORE their third birthday. Again, you will be contacted via letter.
